Cole Palmer is set to start for Chelsea in their upcoming match against Arsenal on Sunday, as confirmed by manager Enzo Maresca on Friday.
Palmer missed last week’s game against Burnley and the mid-week UEFA Champions League victory over Barcelona due to a fractured toe he sustained at home.
Initially, Maresca was concerned that Palmer would not be fit for the match against league leaders Arsenal, but he has now confirmed the midfielder is back in contention.
“He is available. Everyone is happy. His teammates are happy, and we are all happy,” stated Maresca during a press briefing.
“The key is that Cole is happy; he needs to play matches,” Maresca added. “He is arguably our best player, and we are thrilled to have him back. We need to ensure he is completely fit, but he has performed excellently in the past, and we have no doubt he will continue to do so.”

Palmer hasn’t played since suffering a groin injury during Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United back in September. He was close to returning before his recent toe injury.
