Cristiano Ronaldo: I…

Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his satisfaction with his experience in the Saudi Pro League at Al-Nassr, following a recent conflict with the club that caused him to miss two league matches.

Ronaldo, now 41, had previously been absent during his team’s 1-0 victory over Al-Riyadh on February 2 and their 2-0 win against Al-Ittihad on February 6.

According to sources, Ronaldo had voiced concerns over the team’s lack of financial backing during the transfer window, particularly as Al-Nassr’s rivals, Al-Hilal—also funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF)—acquired his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema.

He made a comeback by scoring against Al-Fateh on February 14 and followed up with two goals in Saturday’s impressive 4-0 triumph over Al-Nazem, which propelled Al-Nassr to the top of the standings.

“I am very happy. As I’ve mentioned many times, I belong in Saudi Arabia,” Ronaldo told broadcaster Thmanyah.

“It’s a country that has embraced me, my family, and friends very warmly. I’m joyful here, and I wish to stay for a long time.”

“The most crucial aspect is that we keep pushing forward. We’re at the top, and we will await the outcomes from our competitors. Let’s focus on our own performance, winning matches, and maintaining pressure until the season concludes.”

“We are in a good place, we have regained our confidence, and I am very proud,” Ronaldo added.

After resolving his primary concerns with PIF—including the restoration of decision-making powers to club executives Simão Coutinho and José Semedo, as well as the settlement of overdue salaries—Ronaldo terminated his boycott.

Having extended his contract for two additional years last June, he is now committed to playing for Al-Nassr until the summer of 2027.
