England Defeats Latvia to…

England secured their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup by dominating Latvia with a 5-0 victory in their qualifying match on Tuesday.

Thomas Tuchel’s team entered the match knowing that a win would guarantee their qualification for the prestigious tournament set to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada next summer, achieving that with goals from Anthony Gordon, Harry Kane, and Eberechi Eze.

This decisive victory marked England’s sixth consecutive win in the qualifying rounds, maintaining their status as the only unbeaten team in Group K, having yet to concede a single goal.

“Brilliant. The atmosphere in the dressing room is fantastic. It feels special because our dream of going to America is now reality, thanks to another strong performance and a great result. I’m very happy,” Tuchel expressed to ITV.

“We are dominating matches and displaying hunger to win. Our ability to win the ball back in the opponent’s half has been impressive. We’re on the right track.”

“It feels like a club environment because we play aggressively with a high press. The game is very physical, and everyone must embrace the concept for the high press to work. The players are training at a high level, and the camaraderie within the group makes it a joy to coach them,” Tuchel added.

“We’re making progress step by step.”

England will learn about their group stage opponents during the World Cup draw scheduled for December 5 in Washington, D.C.

They will wrap up their successful qualifying campaign with matches against Serbia on November 13 and Albania on November 16.
