Erling Haaland has broken Alan Shearer’s record for the fastest Premier League goals, achieving this feat and eyeing the legendary striker’s all-time goals record.
Haaland scored the opening goal in Manchester City’s thrilling 5-3 victory against Fulham on Tuesday, marking his 100th Premier League goal.
The Norwegian forward reached this milestone in just 111 appearances, making him the quickest player to reach 100 goals, surpassing Shearer’s achievement of 124 games.
Shearer, an England and Newcastle icon, holds the all-time record for Premier League goals with 260, a target that Haaland, at just 25 years old, is being encouraged to pursue.
“I’m aware of that record,” Haaland remarked in an interview at Craven Cottage. “But I try not to think about it too much…”
As the fastest to reach both 50 and 100 Premier League goals, Haaland understands the expectations surrounding him.
When asked if he feels pressure to score in every match, Haaland commented, “I don’t want to say it directly, but as a striker for Manchester City, you are expected to post impressive numbers.
“That’s my role. If I underperform, it’s fair for people to critique me. Ultimately, I need to deliver.”
Before his record-breaking goal against Fulham, Haaland had not scored in his previous two Premier League matches.
Regarding his milestone, he stated, “I knew about this record, and my aim has always been to contribute to the team by scoring.”

“Each match is unique, and I don’t dwell on previous games. We faced challenges against Newcastle and Bayer Leverkusen, but we’ve bounced back with two victorious matches now.
“The upcoming schedule is intense, with many games lined up in the next month.”
Currently, Haaland leads the Premier League scoring chart for this season with 15 goals.
