Before the trim, Haaland joked around, flashing photos of his past hairdos and a few wild ideas for the new cut. He looked anxious as the first snip went in, but soon started grinning at the result.
The 26-year-old then FaceTimed Jack Grealish, Oasis star Noel Gallagher, and former City manager Pep Guardiola, drawing a mix of reactions.
Gallagher told him he looked about 17 and said he was all for the change. Grealish and Guardiola both said they loved it. Grealish laughed that he looked like a 10-year-old and couldn’t stop staring at the front of his hair. Guardiola joked Haaland was lucky to have hair at all and repeated that he loved it.
Before calling Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Haaland quipped that the Swedish icon had warned him never to cut his long hair, saying his strength was in it. Haaland admitted he was nervous and fancied a military-style buzz cut.
Ibrahimovic wasn’t impressed, asking if he’d lost a bet and telling him to block him and delete his number.
