Everton finalise £24m…

Everton have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea winger Tyrique George in a deal worth up to £24m with add-ons. The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Goodison Park, where an initial option to buy had been set at £25m.

The clubs have now settled on an upfront fee of around £18m, with further payments linked to European qualification and appearances. Chelsea have also included a 15% sell-on clause.

George made 11 appearances for Everton, starting once, and impressed manager David Moyes, who praised his attitude and work rate after the four-month spell. An England Under-21 international and Chelsea academy graduate, he has been available for transfer for the past year, holding talks with RB Leipzig last summer, while a £22m move to Fulham fell through on deadline day in September 2025.

Subject to a medical and personal terms, George is set to become Everton’s second summer signing after a £16m move for Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough. Merlin Rohl has also turned last season’s loan from SC Freiburg into a permanent deal, while Idrissa Gana Gueye and Seamus Coleman have departed at the end of their contracts.
