Former Tottenham Star, 27,…

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman has announced his decision to retire from football to pursue a career in film directing and photography.

At 27 years old, Whiteman joined Spurs when he was just 10 and dedicated 16 years to the club until his contract expired last summer.

During his time with the team, he made only one appearance for the first team, coming on to replace Joe Hart in the 82nd minute of a Europa League match against Ludogorets on November 5, 2020.

Whiteman walks away from his football career with a European winner’s medal, having been part of the squad that secured the Europa League title last season.

He began his journey with Tottenham as a mascot at age six, joining the academy four years later.

Whiteman also spent 18 months on loan with Swedish club Degerfors from August 2021 to December 2022, where he made 34 appearances in the Allsvenskan.

At the youth level, Whiteman represented England in 17 matches, with his final contribution as a Tottenham player being the celebration of the Europa League victory, marking the club’s first trophy in 17 years.

Following his time at Tottenham, Whiteman decided not to continue his football journey but instead retire from the sport altogether to embrace a new career path.

He has since joined the production company Somesuch and is also a resident DJ for NTS Radio.
