Birmingham City have secured the signing of French centre-back Jade Rastocle from Montpellier for an undisclosed amount.

The 22-year-old moved to the French top-flight club in 2024, making 42 appearances and scoring once.

Birmingham clinched the WSL 2 title last season, returning to the top division after five years away.

Rastocle said she was delighted to join, noting the club’s ambition, the city, and its proud history.

She described the move as an incredible opportunity.

On Wednesday, Birmingham also brought in defender Millie Turner and midfielder Lisa Naalsund from Manchester United.

Rastocle has represented France at youth level and previously featured for Reims.

Head coach Amy Merricks praised her as a young defender with notable experience and proven quality in one of Europe’s strongest leagues.

Merricks added that Rastocle should suit the team’s style and continue to develop at the club.
