Fulham is expected to renew their interest in United States men’s striker Ricardo Pepi during the upcoming summer transfer window after a previous attempt fell through in January, according to sources.
Fulham and PSV Eindhoven were nearing an agreement on a fee around €37 million ($43.9 million) for the USMNT striker, but the deal hinged on PSV finding a replacement.
As the transfer deadline approached, PSV opted to abandon the move due to their inability to identify a suitable alternative for Pepi.
The Premier League club has already secured Oscar Bobb during this transfer window and is eager to bolster their attack further with the young striker.
Pepi, 23, has been impressive this season with PSV, netting eight goals in 15 Eredivisie matches. Although currently sidelined with a broken forearm, he remains a highly sought-after player to enhance Fulham’s forward line.
Sources indicate that Fulham is keen to explore another opportunity to sign Pepi in the summer.
The young forward began his career with FC Dallas, followed by stints at Augsburg and Groningen, before joining PSV, where he has scored 26 goals in 60 appearances along with 13 goals in 34 matches for the USMNT.
