MANCHESTER, England — Ruben Amorim expressed his “frustration and anger” after witnessing Manchester United concede a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw with West Ham at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Soungoutou Magassa equalized in the 83rd minute, negating Diogo Dalot‘s opening goal, preventing United from moving into the top five of the Premier League.

Amorim lamented the careless late goal, which originated from a long ball that the United defense failed to handle.
“Frustrated, angry, that’s how I feel,” the Portuguese coach said when reflecting on the match.
Amorim was particularly frustrated by the manner in which West Ham scored, stemming from what appeared to be an innocuous long ball.
After bouncing over Leny Yoro‘s head, Jarrod Bowen earned a corner kick, leading to Magassa’s goal from the set piece.
“There are second halves where we lose control of the game, but today was not one of those instances,” Amorim noted.
“After the first goal, we lost some crucial second balls.
“We often defend too far away from our goal. [The goal] came from a long ball, and we allowed them to win the second ball against three of our players; we need to improve.”
“We can’t permit a taller team to have a corner like that.”
The draw leaves Manchester United in eighth place in the Premier League standings as they prepare for a trip to Wolves on Monday.
