Garnacho Signs with Aston…

Alejandro Garnacho has officially joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan from Chelsea as the new Premier League season approaches.

The arrangement includes a clause that would require a permanent transfer dependent on the number of matches Garnacho plays, as reported by ESPN sources.

Garnacho’s time at Chelsea was less than successful; he joined from Manchester United for £40 million ($54 million) but only managed to score eight goals in 43 matches across all competitions. He also did not make the Argentina team that reached the World Cup final.

Aston Villa has been active in the transfer market, bringing in Johan Manzambi from Freiburg for a club-record fee, João Gomes from Wolves for £34 million ($46 million), and Modou Keba Cisse from LASK. However, Amadou Onana suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) while representing Belgium at the World Cup.

Garnacho’s transfer comes as part of a swap with Morgan Rogers, who Chelsea acquired from Villa in a separate deal for £117 million ($156 million), marking a record for a British player.
