Guardiola on Semenyo…

Pep Guardiola has declined to comment on Manchester City’s potential pursuit of Antoine Semenyo during the January transfer window.

There’s growing speculation about Semenyo’s transfer to the Etihad Stadium, as City has reportedly shown willingness to activate the £65 million ($87m) release clause in his contract with Bournemouth.

Sources informed ESPN that negotiations are ongoing; however, during a news conference on Wednesday, Guardiola remained tight-lipped regarding the possibility of signing the Ghana international.

“I currently have no updates on any matters,” he stated.

“I’m sorry, but I have no news. The transfer window is entirely closed at this moment,” he added.

If Semenyo were to join, it could lead to Oscar Bobb moving away from the club to create space.

Borussia Dortmund has been mentioned in connection with the injured Norway international, yet Guardiola once again opted not to comment on his future.

“You should ask Oscar Bobb, not me,” he remarked.

City is set to face Sunderland on Thursday, looking to narrow the gap with Arsenal following their impressive 4-0 victory against Aston Villa on Tuesday.

When asked if the result indicated a two-team race for the title, Guardiola maintained that it is still too early to determine which clubs might be in contention.

“A few weeks ago, it was just Arsenal, and now it’s shifting again. We’ll just have to wait and see,” he said.
