Haaland Breaks Shearers…

Erling Haaland made history as the fastest player to enter the Premier League 100 goals club, achieving this feat with a goal in the 17th minute during Manchester City‘s thrilling 5-4 victory against Fulham on Tuesday.

City appeared to be on track for an easy win, establishing a 3-0 lead early in the game and later extending it to 5-1 in the second half, before Fulham staged a remarkable comeback that ultimately fell short.

Haaland’s 100th Premier League goal came in just his 111th appearance, surpassing Alan Shearer’s previous record, which was set in 1995 during his 124th match.

This remarkable milestone is yet another record that the Norwegian forward has set since joining City in July 2022.

With his latest goal, Haaland outpaced several Premier League legends in the race to 100 goals, including Thierry Henry (141 matches), Sergio Agüero (147 matches), and his rival at Liverpool, Mohamed Salah (162 matches).

However, Haaland still has a distance to cover to reach the Premier League’s all-time goal-scoring record. Shearer remains the top scorer in league history, with a total of 260 goals scored during his time at Blackburn and Newcastle from 1992 to 2006.

In his debut season with City, Haaland set a record with 36 Premier League goals, and he has already claimed two Golden Boots, with 27 goals in the 2023-24 season alone.

Last season, he scored 22 goals, and this time around, he has netted 15 goals in just 14 appearances, leading the scoring race as he aims for his third Golden Boot.

Wolves have proven to be Haaland’s favorite opponents, as he has scored 10 times in six encounters, including four goals in his first two home matches against the Black Country team.

He has nine goals against West Ham and eight against Manchester United in six games against each. The goal on Tuesday marked his seventh in as many matches against Fulham.
