The New York Red Bulls have revealed that striker Julian Hall has officially signed a new four-year contract with the team.
While the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed, it will extend through the 2029-30 MLS season.
Hailing from Manhattan, Hall has secured a U-22 initiative contract, making history as the youngest American and the first player from the Red Bulls academy to sign such a contract at just 18 years and 156 days old.
Since making his debut for the club on September 30, 2023, he became the second youngest player in MLS history, following Freddy Adu.
“I’m incredibly grateful and thrilled to continue my football journey here,” Hall shared with ESPN in an exclusive interview.
“It’s fantastic to have the coaches’ and the organization’s trust in me.”
When asked if he anticipated being in this position heading into the season, Hall responded, “I don’t think I’ve ever been able to plan every season. I approach each season with the same mentality—to give my best and support the team as much as I can. I’m thankful to be in this position right now.”
This season, Hall has been a standout for the Red Bulls, netting 12 goals and contributing four assists across all competitions. Earlier this year, he made history as the youngest player in MLS to score a hat trick during a 3-2 victory over Columbus on May 13.
Additionally, Hall was selected to the 2026 MLS All-Star team, making him the second youngest player in the team’s history to earn that honor. Over all competitions, he has participated in 68 matches, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists.
“Julian has become a pivotal figure in our first team, and we believe he will play an even more significant role in the future,” stated Julian de Guzman, head of sport. “He has gained the confidence of his teammates and coaching staff through his consistent performances and mindset. This new contract reflects the high regard we have for Julian and the role we envision for him at our club.”
One of Hall’s notable attributes is his timing on runs and knack for finding space within the box. He emphasized that being aware on the field is essential for maximizing his potential in these areas.
“There are a lot of thoughts that come together quickly. The key for me is being aware,” he noted. “In every position on the field, you need to have a solid understanding of your location, your teammates’ positions, and where the defenders are. I strive to take all of that into account within the short timeframe I have.”
Hall’s impressive performances have caught the attention of clubs across Europe, including RB Leipzig—part of the Red Bull family—and Atlético Madrid.
However, Hall emphasized that his focus remains with his hometown club.
“I signed when I was 15, and as a child, it’s always been a dream to play in Europe,” he reflected. “But my priority is here, and I want to do my best to help the team and move forward.”
Hall possesses dual U.S. and Polish citizenship and has been seen sporting the name “Zakrzewski” on his jersey in honor of his Polish heritage.
However, he did not specify which national team he leans towards representing internationally.
Hall mentioned he has not had any discussions with U.S. coach Mauricio Pochettino about joining the USMNT.
“I am fortunate to have two wonderful nationalities interested in me,” he said. “Growing up with my Polish mother and American father has given me great respect for both nationalities. For now, I am taking a neutral approach to the matter.”
