Harry Kane nets 45th goal…

Harry Kane scored twice to bring his total for the season to 45, helping Bayern Munich secure a 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at Allianz Arena, maintaining their position at the top of the Bundesliga.

Kane opened his account by heading in shortly after Aleksandar Pavlovic had given Bayern a first-half lead. He later scored his ninth goal in six matches from well outside the box in the second half.

Frankfurt did rally with a penalty from Jonathan Burkardt and Arnaud Kalimuendo scoring late, making for a tense finish.

After suffering their first Bundesliga defeat of the season against Augsburg last month, Bayern responded with three consecutive wins in all competitions, quickly taking charge against Frankfurt.

Pavlovic opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a low shot from outside the box that found the net, marking Bayern’s first shot on target.

Before the match, Kane was honored with a commemorative poster for reaching 500 goals for club and country, following his two penalties in last week’s 3-0 win against Werder Bremen.

The England captain made it 501 in the 20th minute, heading in from close range to extend Bayern’s lead after Josip Stanisic flicked on a corner.

Despite snapping a 10-game winless streak the previous week against Borussia Monchengladbach, Frankfurt struggled in the first half without a shot on target.

They threatened early in the second half with a narrow miss by Mahmoud Dahoud

but soon Bayern controlled the field again.

Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, and Kane had several opportunities but were thwarted by Santos, while Frankfurt hit the post from a close chance.

Kane solidified Bayern’s lead with his second goal in the 68th minute, finishing low into the corner from outside the box after being assisted by Joshua Kimmich.

However, Kane’s slip in his own area led to a penalty for Frankfurt when VAR ruled he fouled Oscar Hojlund, and Burkardt scored from the spot.

Frankfurt then created a nervous finish by making it 3-2 with a goal from Kalimuendo in the final minutes, but Bayern managed to hold on for the victory.
