Harry Maguire has officially renewed his contract with Manchester United, as confirmed by the club.
The England defender was set to become a free agent at the end of the current season but has agreed to extend his time at Old Trafford.
Maguire has penned an initial one-year contract that runs until June 2027, with the option to extend for another year.
Maguire expressed: “Playing for Manchester United is the highest honor. It’s a responsibility that fills both me and my family with pride every single day.
“I am thrilled to continue my journey at this remarkable club for at least another eight seasons and to keep playing in front of our dedicated supporters, creating more unforgettable moments together.
“You can sense the ambition and potential of this thrilling squad. The determination across the entire club to contend for major trophies is evident to everyone, and I believe our best moments are still ahead of us.”
– Bruno Fernandes, 31, is Man United’s MVP. However, extending his contract may not be wise.

Jason Wilcox, Manchester United’s director of football, commented: “Harry embodies the mentality and resilience required to excel at Manchester United. He is the ultimate professional, providing invaluable experience and leadership to our young and ambitious team.
“Like everyone at the club, Harry is fully dedicated to helping Manchester United achieve consistent and sustained success.”
Since arriving from Leicester City in a record £80 million ($106 million) transfer in 2019, the 33-year-old has made 266 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals.
He has been instrumental in United’s resurgence under Michael Carrick, earning a call-up to the England squad after impressive performances since January, ahead of the March friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.
