Chelsea has announced the exit of Paul Green from his position as Head of Women’s Football after 13 years.

Joining Chelsea at a pivotal time, Green played a key role in hiring former manager Emma Hayes and guiding the team’s evolution during her impressive 12-year leadership.

Under his stewardship, the club secured 19 major titles, including eight league championships and six FA Cups.

A club statement expressed gratitude for Green’s “commitment, experience, and professionalism,” stating that his contributions have significantly supported a sustained period of success.

Chelsea recently experienced consecutive defeats, including a 5-1 loss to Manchester City and a 2-0 setback against Arsenal.

The club has also extended manager Sonia Bompastor’s contract through 2030, an extension from her previous agreement that was due to end in 2028.

Sporting Directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley stated: “Her influence has been immediate and remarkable, embodying the standards we aspire to as a club. Sonia is not just essential to our current success but also plays a pivotal role in our long-term vision.”

According to sources, the club fully supports Bompastor, although internal changes were already being considered prior to the announcement of her contract extension.
