Inter Begins Title Defense…

MILAN — Defending Serie A champions Inter Milan will begin their title defense at home against newly promoted Monza.

The fixture list for next season’s Serie A was revealed on Friday. Runner-up Napoli will take on Genoa in their opening match, while AC Milan heads to Torino and Juventus faces Serie B runner-up Frosinone.

Como, which had a surprising fourth-place finish last season, will play against Udinese. Meanwhile, Roma will host Fiorentina.

The season is set to start during the weekend of August 23 and will continue until May 30. There will be two midweek rounds scheduled for October 28 and January 6, and no matches will take place on the weekend of December 26 in observance of Christmas.

The first significant matches among the top teams are scheduled for the third round, featuring Inter against Napoli and Milan visiting Juventus.

The first Milan derby is set for the 10th round during the weekend of November 1, coinciding with Napoli’s visit to Juventus.

The initial Rome derby, contested between Roma and Lazio, will occur during the weekend of December 13.

In the final round, Inter will travel to face Sassuolo, Napoli will host Atalanta, Milan will play against Udinese, and Juventus will compete with Frosinone.
