Inter Miami Pays Tribute…

Inter Miami plans to pay tribute to Lionel Messi by dedicating a portion of the club’s new Nu Stadium in his honor, officially naming it the Leo Messi Stand.

“Inter Miami CF is thrilled to introduce the Leo Messi Stand, making our number 10 and captain part of a distinctive achievement in global sports: an active athlete playing at their home stadium with a stand dedicated to them,” the club announced in a statement.

“Typically, tributes reflect on the past, rooted in nostalgia and memory. This one is different; it emerges from the present, showcasing the excitement of what happens each time Leo takes the field.”

“Honoring someone doesn’t always mean closing a chapter. Sometimes, it’s about appreciating the unique moment you’re experiencing.”

The Leo Messi Stand will encompass Sections 117-121 in the lower bowl and Sections 217-223 in the upper bowl of the stadium.

Since joining the club in the summer of 2023, Messi has guided Inter Miami to their first Leagues Cup title, as well as the 2024 Supporters’ Shield and the 2025 MLS Cup. He has also contributed to establishing the MLS record for the highest points total in a single season.

On an individual level, the Inter Miami captain made history in the league by winning the MVP award in both 2024 and 2025, becoming the first player to achieve this accolade in consecutive seasons.
