Inter Milan agree £30m…

Curtis Jones is poised to join Inter Milan after the Serie A club reached a €35m (£30m) agreement with Liverpool.

The deal is structured as €30m (£25.7m) guaranteed plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons.

The 25-year-old will travel to Italy on Thursday for his medical. Liverpool have also secured a 10% sell-on clause.

Inter’s verbal €25m (£21.7m) offer in June was rejected, with Liverpool valuing the midfielder—who had a year remaining on his contract—at around £35m.

More recently, Liverpool indicated that a package similar to the roughly £30m Inter paid Tottenham for Djed Spence would likely be enough to reach an agreement.

Inter had also explored a January loan with an option to buy, which Liverpool declined.

Jones has played 228 times for Liverpool since debuting under Jürgen Klopp in 2019.

Last season he featured in 49 games across all competitions but started only 18 Premier League matches, struggling to cement a regular midfield role under Arne Slot.

A Liverpool academy graduate from the age of nine, Jones is eager for a fresh challenge and would become Inter’s third English signing of the summer, following John Stones and Spence.
