Inter Milan are in advanced negotiations to sign England international John Stones on a free transfer.
The centre-back became a free agent after leaving Manchester City at the end of June.
He has attracted strong interest from across Europe, including Chelsea and Juventus.
However, the Serie A champions have held encouraging talks with the 32-year-old and are believed to be leading the race, with a two-year deal under discussion.
Stones made 295 appearances for City after arriving from Everton in 2016 for £47.5m.
During his time in Manchester, he won six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
The former Barnsley defender has 93 caps for England and was part of the squad that finished third at the World Cup.
