Inter Milan Seal Signing…

Inter Milan have signed England full-back Djed Spence from Tottenham on a five-year deal. The Serie A champions are understood to be paying about €30m (£25.6m) for the 26-year-old.

Spence is Inter’s second English arrival of the summer, following John Stones, who joined after leaving Manchester City at the end of his contract.

Earlier on Saturday, Spence effectively confirmed his departure by posting a farewell message to Spurs fans on social media, thanking staff, teammates and supporters, recalling standout moments — including a memorable night in Bilbao — and saying he was ready for a new chapter while keeping Spurs close to his heart.

He played in all eight of England’s World Cup matches as Thomas Tuchel’s side finished third. Spence made 44 appearances for Tottenham in 2025-26, though competition increased after right-back Pedro Porro signed a new deal in June and left-back Andy Robertson arrived from Liverpool.

Tottenham manager Roberto de Zerbi had said in July he hoped to convince Spence to stay. Spence initially joined Spurs from Middlesbrough in 2022 for £12.5m, went on to make 85 appearances, and helped the club win the 2024-25 Europa League. This will be his second stint in Italy after a six-month loan at Genoa in 2024.
