Inter Milan is in ongoing discussions with Tottenham regarding a potential acquisition of Djed Spence, as reported by sources to ESPN.
While no agreement has been finalized, negotiations are ongoing for a transfer that could be valued around €30 million ($34.6 million/£25.6 million).
Tottenham is considering offloading the 26-year-old, as ESPN sources indicate that head coach Roberto De Zerbi does not consider Spence a key player for the upcoming season.
Spence was brought to Spurs from Middlesbrough in July 2022 for £19 million ($25.6 million), which included performance-related add-ons contingent on international appearances.
Spence made his England debut in September 2025, an achievement that reportedly activated a £1 million ($1.3 million) payment to Middlesbrough. He later unexpectedly earned a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad this summer.
Despite a solid performance at the tournament, sources indicate that Spurs are eager to capitalize on his increased market value. Spence has taken a longer break following England’s third-place finish in the United States.
While there appears to be no significant rift with De Zerbi, Spence’s route to consistent first-team action at Spurs is quite challenging.

Last month, De Zerbi described Pedro Porro as the “best in the world” in the right-back position.
Tottenham has also acquired Andy Robertson on a free transfer, with the former Liverpool defender expected to play a significant role at left-back, competing with Destiny Udogie, provided the latter regains fitness after a challenging preseason.
