Kane Calls for Calm at…

Harry Kane stated that “it’s not time to panic” following Bayern Munich‘s first defeat of the season, a 3-1 loss to Arsenal in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta’s squad continued their perfect record in the Champions League, achieving five victories in as many matches, and moved three points ahead at the top of the European table thanks to goals from Jurriën Timber, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli, while teenager Lennart Karl scored for the Bundesliga leaders.

Before their match at the Emirates, Bayern had remained unbeaten in all competitions, including a Champions League win over European champions Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

Following the defeat, Kane reassured that Bayern won’t let this loss derail their season.

“It’s our first loss of the season, and we don’t want to overreact,” Kane told TNT Sports. “But we will definitely learn from this experience.”

“They were more effective in winning the first and second balls. We knew they could be dangerous from set pieces, but I’m sure we’ll cross paths with Arsenal again in the later stages of the Champions League.”

“They defended man-to-man for the most part. As I mentioned, it’s not time to panic. We’ve faced Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal away, and we’ve won the majority of our games.”

England captain Kane noted that Bayern struggled against Arsenal’s intensity in the second half.

“It was a challenging match, which we anticipated. The first half was a good contest and pretty balanced,” he said. “In the second half, we didn’t have the same energy or intensity and lost too many battles.”

Arsenal’s coach, Arteta, expressed pride in his players for defeating the “best team in Europe” in Bayern.

Conversely, Bayern’s coach, Vincent Kompany, downplayed the accolades, insisting it is premature to label any team as the best in the competition.

“We had a similar discussion three weeks ago when we faced PSG,” Kompany remarked. “They mentioned the same thing then. However, I don’t think any of us aspire to be the best team in November. We’re focused on using this season to build towards being strong in the crucial moments.”
