Reports today indicate Osasuna have asked about Tierney, though the same piece suggested Celtic’s hierarchy plan to rebuff any bids for the 29-year-old.
With limited cover in that role and Tierney’s significance to the champions, that stance is no surprise.
“Kieran isn’t going anywhere; he loves this club,” said his former captain Scott Brown on Sportsound.
“You never know in football, but I love watching the wee man—his passion’s incredible. He wins the 50-50s, and when a cross comes in, he’ll stick his head on it.”
“He’s got quality in possession as well. You can see why he went to Arsenal. Other clubs will want that, and Celtic are fortunate to have kept these three—Tierney, McGregor and James Forrest—for so long.”
Captain McGregor also impressed in the league opener, and while there were whispers about a potential exit, that chatter has faded in recent weeks.
“Callum has stepped away from Scotland duty, so he’s had a break and looks really fresh,” Brown said. “He’s the brains of this team—he understands the game and leads by example.”
