LA Galaxy Transfer Gabriel…

The LA Galaxy have transferred forward Gabriel Pec to Cruzeiro in Brazil for a club-record fee, as announced by the MLS team on Tuesday.

While the exact fee was not revealed, a report from The Athletic indicated that the Galaxy would receive $12 million, with an additional $1.5 million potentially available in performance-related bonuses.

“Gabriel made a significant impact on the Galaxy from day one,” said Galaxy GM Will Kuntz. “In under three years, he has achieved the MLS Newcomer of the Year, been named an MLS All-Star, and won an MLS Cup. However, his greatest legacy will be as a remarkable teammate and friend to those who knew him best.”

“His achievements reflect his talent as well as his dedication and hard work since joining the team. We are excited for his future and confident he will continue to enhance those around him. We wish both him and Issa great success as they head back to Brazil.”

In 2023, the Galaxy received $4 million when Julián Araujo transferred to Barcelona. Last year, they received another $4 million in a player exchange involving Dejan Joveljic‘s move to Sporting Kansas City.

Pec, originally from Brazil, netted 43 goals and recorded 28 assists in 101 appearances during his time with the Galaxy. His contributions helped the club clinch both the Western Conference and the MLS Cup in 2024, where he was also honored as an All-Star.

This year, Pec has already made 15 goal contributions across all competitions with the Galaxy.

Before joining the Galaxy for the 2024 season, Pec played for Vasco de Gama in Brazil.
