Lampard Triumphs Over…

Frank Lampard, manager of Coventry City, received a heartfelt message from Sir Alex Ferguson after winning the League Managers Association’s manager of the year award.

The former England international has led the Sky Blues to a triumphant promotion back to the top tier, their first since 2001, by clinching the Championship title with impressive performances.

Lampard’s achievements earned him the divisional accolade at the LMA awards in London, where he also received the prestigious Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy for overall manager of the year.

Ferguson, who was unable to attend the event due to medical treatment he received prior to Manchester United’s match against Liverpool earlier this month, was represented by England manager Thomas Tuchel, who presented the award.

Tuchel conveyed Ferguson’s sentiments, stating, “It isn’t quite the same without Sir Alex here with us, and we wish him a speedy recovery so he can join us on stage next year. In the meantime, I am honored to share this letter with you, Frank.”

In the letter, Ferguson expressed, “Congratulations on being named LMA manager of the year. You should take immense pride in what you and your team have achieved this season.”

He further praised Lampard’s leadership style and the entertaining football Coventry has displayed, adding, “Your humility and eagerness to learn shine through, and I am confident this award holds great significance for you. Best of luck in the Premier League next season.”

Mikel Arteta was also nominated for the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy and took a break from preparations for the Champions League final to collect the Premier League manager of the year award alongside his team.

The shortlist for the award included notable managers such as Keith Andrews, Michael Carrick, Pep Guardiola, Andoni Iraola, and Regis Le Bris.

In other categories, Andree Jeglertz of Manchester City was named Women’s Super League manager of the year, while Karen Hills of Charlton received the WSL 2 manager of the year award. The League One and League Two managerial awards went to Michael Skubala and Andy Woodman, respectively.
