CHICAGO — Robert Lewandowski made an impressive home debut for the Fire, netting two goals, including a decisive strike, as Chicago defeated Charlotte FC 2-1 on Saturday.
After transferring from Barcelona on a two-year deal, Lewandowski equalized in the 20th minute with a spectacular strike from outside the box.
He secured the win for the Fire (9-6-2) in the 68th minute, landing a shot in the bottom left corner. This match marked their first home game in over two months.
The seasoned Polish striker had previously come off the bench in a 3-1 away loss to New York City FC last week.

Pep Biel put Charlotte (7-7-4) ahead early with a shot from the right side of the box, assisted by Idan Toklomati.
Charlotte sought an equalizer late in the game and earned a corner during stoppage time, but Chicago successfully defended their one-goal lead.
Entering the match unbeaten in their last two games, Charlotte fell to their third consecutive defeat against the Fire.
Next, both teams will shift their focus to the Leagues Cup, with Chicago facing Necaxa on Thursday and Charlotte taking on Pumas UNAM on Tuesday.
