Liverpool has officially signed Senegalese defender Mor Talla Ndiaye.
The 18-year-old joins from Amitie FC, a club based in Senegal, for an estimated fee of around £1 million (approximately $1.3 million).
Ndiaye was part of the Senegal squad that competed at the U17 World Cup in Qatar last year, where he made four appearances as the team progressed to the round of 32.
Initially, Ndiaye will be part of Liverpool’s U21 team, but he has the potential to challenge established central defenders like Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, and Joe Gomez in the future.
Additionally, fellow young defender Giovanni Leoni, who was recently signed by Liverpool, is anticipated to miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL sustained during his debut in September.
