Lyon coach not satisfied…

Lyon head coach Paulo Fonseca has expressed dissatisfaction with Endrick‘s performance and is urging the young Brazilian forward to step up his game.

The 19-year-old forward had a promising start with Lyon following his six-month loan from Real Madrid, but his performance has diminished as the team has struggled.

In a recent Ligue 1 match against Angers, which ended in a 0-0 stalemate, Lyon’s winless streak extended to nine games.

“I am not satisfied with how Endrick is playing,” Fonseca stated on Friday. “I’m not here to undermine players, but I expect more from someone of his caliber, and he has a responsibility to perform better.”

Contrarily, just days earlier, Endrick made a notable impact coming off the bench for Brazil, winning a penalty and assisting in the third goal during a friendly match where Brazil defeated Croatia 3-1 in Orlando, Florida.

“He mentioned being a bit tired from the trip back from Orlando,” Fonseca added. “However, I believe he needs to take more responsibility.”

Overall, Endrick has scored six goals in 15 appearances for Lyon. The team has struggled to find the back of the net recently, tallying only three goals in their last six matches ahead of their home game against Lorient on Sunday.

Currently, Lyon sits two points behind third-place Lille with just six matches remaining. The top three teams in Ligue 1 secure automatic qualifications for the Champions League, while the team finishing fourth enters the qualifying round.
