Mainoos Brother Wears…

Kobbie Mainoo’s brother was seen wearing a T-shirt that read “Free Kobbie Mainoo” during the thrilling 4-4 draw between Manchester United and Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Monday.

This season, Mainoo has faced challenges securing playing time under head coach Ruben Amorim, leading to speculation about a possible January transfer.

The England midfielder received a warm welcome from home fans when he was substituted in during the second half against Bournemouth.

Amorim observed his team take the lead three times, only to settle for a draw.

Two crucial late saves by Senne Lammens prevented Bournemouth from clinching a late victory.

“It was an entertaining game for fans watching at home,” Amorim remarked. “Of course, there’s a sense of disappointment in scoring four goals and not winning. We need to improve our defensive quality—this is definitely an area we must address.”

Mainoo has yet to start a Premier League match this season, coming on in the 61st minute for Casemiro against Bournemouth.

During the match, his brother, former Love Island contestant Jordan Mainoo-Hames, was spotted wearing a T-shirt advocating for his brother’s playing time.

The 20-year-old Mainoo is eager to find more consistent playing opportunities to bolster his chances of making England’s World Cup squad. He has been rumored to be attracting interest from Napoli.

Sources indicate that Manchester United is hesitant to agree to a permanent transfer but may be open to loan offers in January.

It seems they might only allow his departure after the window closes, contingent on the return of Africa Cup of Nations players Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo.

Although Amorim did not comment on the T-shirt incident post-match, he will have the opportunity to address it during his weekly press conference on Friday.

Before the game, Amorim noted, “First and foremost, the team takes precedence. If Kobbie wants to speak with me, I am open to that conversation. I won’t disclose what I would say to him, but I would be very pleased if he approaches me regarding this matter. My goal is to ensure my players are happy, and I recognize that every individual has their ambitions. Frustration serves no one, but our focus must remain on the current game, and we will see what unfolds.”
