Manchester City have finalized the acquisition of Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, as confirmed by the club.
The 26-year-old has joined City for an upfront fee of £62.5 million ($84 million), with an additional £1.5 million ($2 million) potentially coming in add-ons.
Semenyo has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him with the club until 2031 after passing his medical examination on Thursday.
Semenyo has been registered in time for the weekend and could make his debut for City in the FA Cup third round against League One side Exeter City on Saturday.
He will also be available for the Carabao Cup semifinal first leg against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Tuesday.
Director of Football Hugo Viana stated that the Ghana international, who has taken the No.42 shirt previously worn by Yaya Toure, had become City’s top target in the transfer market following a string of impressive performances at Bournemouth.
“We are always scouting players worldwide, and Antoine was our top choice,” Viana said. “He has proven he can excel in the Premier League. He is humble, dedicated, professional, and fully committed to becoming a better footballer. He fits perfectly with our vision.”

Semenyo departs Bournemouth after netting 10 goals in 20 Premier League appearances this season, and he arrives with the ambition to contribute to City’s trophy pursuits in the latter half of the campaign.
“I am incredibly proud to join Manchester City,” Semenyo expressed. “I’ve watched City thrive over the past decade under Pep Guardiola, establishing themselves as the dominant force in the Premier League while achieving remarkable success in the Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup.
“I see tremendous room for growth in my game, and being at this club, at this point in my career, is an ideal fit. It’s truly a privilege to be here.
“I’m confident my best football is still ahead of me. City has a fantastic chance, competing in four different tournaments, and I really believe I can help enhance their performance in the second half of the season.”
