The reigning FA Cup champions, Crystal Palace, are set to face a trip to sixth-tier Macclesfield during the third round of this year’s tournament. Meanwhile, both Manchester United and Wrexham will go up against Premier League clubs.
Macclesfield, one of the last four non-league teams remaining in the competition, currently sits 14th in the National League North.
In their former incarnation as Macclesfield Town, the Silkmen advanced to the fourth round of the tournament in 2013, ultimately falling to Wigan.
Weston-super-Mare, a National League South team, will venture to League Two’s Grimsby, who made headlines earlier this season by knocking out Manchester United in the League Cup.
Boreham Wood aims to replicate their impressive fifth-round run from three years ago as they host either Brackley or Burton.
The draw also resulted in four all-Premier League matchups, led by Aston Villa’s trip to Tottenham. Additionally, Everton will clash with Sunderland, Newcastle takes on Bournemouth, and Brighton heads to Manchester United.
Premier League leaders Arsenal are set to visit Fratton Park to challenge the 2008 champions Portsmouth, while Wrexham will host Nottingham Forest in a high-profile match.
Liverpool will take on Barnsley at home, Manchester City faces a League One matchup against Exeter, and a thrilling London derby awaits between Charlton and Chelsea at The Valley.
All the matches are scheduled to take place over the weekend of January 10-11, 2026.
