However, United dominated the second half, with Bryan Mbeumo putting them back in the lead in the 51st minute. Following an assist from Fernandes, Mason Mount scored their third, and Fernandes capped off the night by converting a penalty in the 81st minute past goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
The announcement of nine minutes of stoppage time while Wolves trailed 4-1 elicited a sigh from the home crowd, as the team lamented their meager two points earned this season.
