With his extraordinary soccer skills, it was only a matter of time before Lionel Messi ventured into the realm of superhero movies.
Although he hasn’t yet landed his own comic-book hero franchise, the star of the Argentina national team and Inter Miami CF makes a special appearance assisting Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in a promotional ad for the upcoming film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
In the advertisement, Messi walks into a coffee shop and encounters Holland, who is in his everyday guise as Peter Parker. The 39-year-old soccer icon reveals he’s on a mission to track down Spider-Man using a phone app.

After Parker slips into a back room for a moment, Spider-Man makes a sudden appearance. Showcasing his action hero prowess, Messi says just a few words before they take off on an unexpected web-slinging adventure across the city skyline.
We can picture it now. This might just be the ideal setup for Spider-Man's next formidable adversary: move aside Doctor Octopus and the Green Goblin—enter... The Dribbler.
Messi's engaging cameo in this Spider-Man ad adds to his impressive portfolio of appearances in various commercials, including high-profile ads leading up to the World Cup, where the Argentina captain has starred in numerous big-budget campaigns for various brands.
