Lionel Messi reached out to the players and coaching staff of UE Cornellà on Thursday to formally introduce himself after acquiring the club, expressing his enthusiasm for growth and his commitment to supporting the fifth-division team.

“I just wanted to say hello and let you know that we’re here to grow and assist in whatever capacity is required. We are thrilled about this new project,” Messi conveyed in a video message to the club.

This message comes as Cornellà approaches the final two matchdays of their Tercera RFEF regular season, already secured a spot in the promotion playoffs for the Segunda RFEF.

“I’m keeping an eye on you and cheering for you every weekend,” Messi shared on social media during the team’s last match.

The star of Inter Miami CF officially announced his acquisition of the Spanish club on April 16, marking another step in his investment in youth soccer development.

Cornellà’s academy is renowned for producing talented players, including stars like Jordi Alba, Gerard Martín, and David Raya.
