“It’s great to see the club has made changes,” Van de Ven told BBC Sport in July.

“You can feel a new sense of ambition here, which is really important for those of us who’ve been around a while.

“Last season was stressful and below our standards, so putting it behind us and starting fresh means a lot.”

Tottenham have finished 17th in the Premier League in consecutive seasons, with their fight for survival going to the final day of the 2025-26 campaign.

After a turbulent nine months with three managers, Van de Ven said he’s optimistic about a brighter future under De Zerbi.

“It’ll be different from last season’s manager,” he said.

“It should also be more enjoyable to watch because we’ll play attacking football.

“It’s what we needed, as everyone was a bit down.”
