In the 2025 playoffs, Minnesota triumphed over the Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference quarterfinals but were eliminated by San Diego FC in the following round. Ramsay’s overall record at Minnesota stands at 31 wins, 23 losses, and 22 draws (postseason wins via penalty shootouts are counted as draws).

The Welshman will replace Ryan Mason, who was recently dismissed as West Brom sits in 18th place, 10 points away from playoff contention in the second tier of English football.

News of Ramsay’s transition to West Brom was initially reported by the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Ramsay is well-regarded in England, having served at Manchester United during the tenures of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick, and Erik ten Hag.

He also contributed as an assistant coach for the Wales men’s national team for six months, starting in March 2023.

Additionally, he has worked at the youth levels for clubs including Swansea City, Shrewsbury Town, and Chelsea.

Since the conclusion of the season, Minnesota has experienced notable roster changes, with midfielder Robin Lod transferring to the Chicago Fire and goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair moving to Inter Miami, both as free agents.

In response to these departures, Minnesota has acquired former New England Revolution midfielder/forward Tomás Chancalay in a trade, as well as goalkeeper Drake Callender from Charlotte FC.
