Monaco Excludes Pogba from…

Monaco has removed Paul Pogba from their Champions League roster for the knockout stages, according to sources who spoke to ESPN. This decision was made to accommodate their new signings from January.

Pogba, who will celebrate his 33rd birthday next month, has not played since early December and has appeared just three times for the team this season — along with brief appearances against Rennes and PSG in November, and once more off the bench against Brest.

The France international joined Monaco in June after serving an 18-month ban for doping, and has since battled with fitness issues, compounded by minor thigh problems and an ankle injury.

Currently, he is recovering from a calf injury sustained in early December, with a return expected in the coming days.

In the January transfer window, Monaco secured the signings of Simon Adingra and Wout Faes, both of whom are expected to play key roles in the Champions League playoff matches against PSG later this month.

It appears likely that the new signings will be starters, while Pogba will not be included in the lineup.
