New York to Host Olympic…

Six cities in the United States have been selected to host soccer matches during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

New York City, Columbus (Ohio), Nashville (Tennessee), St. Louis (Missouri), as well as San Diego and San Jose (both in California) will feature group stage games, according to the organizers announced on Tuesday.

Reynold Hoover, the chief executive of LA 2028, informed members of the International Olympic Committee that the events will take place in “premier existing Major League Soccer stadiums.”

The Rose Bowl in Pasadena has already been confirmed as the venue for knockout and medal matches.

For the first time in 2028, the Olympic women’s soccer tournament will surpass the men’s in size, featuring 16 teams for women compared to just 12 for men—reversing the gender imbalance seen at the Paris Olympics, which had 16 men’s teams and only 12 women’s teams.
