The president of Brazilian club Remo has accused Santos star Neymar of inciting provocation following Tuesday’s Brazilian Cup match.
Neymar entered the game during the second half and assisted his teammate Rony in scoring the only goal, leading Santos to advance 1-0 on aggregate to the quarterfinals.
After the match held in Belém, tensions escalated as both teams headed to their locker rooms.
An animated Neymar, 34, was caught on video taunting Remo’s management and staff post-game by shouting “eliminated, eliminated.”
Remo’s president, Antônio Carlos Teixeira, condemned Neymar’s disrespectful actions, stating to Portal O Fluxo: “It was a fantastic campaign by Remo.” He added, “That lowlife Neymar, who is idolized by many children, acted out here and continues to come back to tease us. We have only ourselves to blame for idolizing people like him.”

In response, Neymar appeared unfazed by the insults directed at him by Remo supporters. The forward, who recently participated in his fourth World Cup and is Brazil‘s all-time top scorer with 80 goals, shared a video on Instagram during the warm-up when he was booed by the local fans.
He playfully responded, “Thank you for the love, Belém,” pairing it with a heart and laughing emojis.
