Santos has confirmed that Neymar will remain with the club until the end of the year.
Although Neymar’s previous contract was set to expire on December 31, 2025, the Brazilian forward, who played a pivotal role in helping Santos secure their top-flight status, has reportedly agreed to a new contract that will be announced shortly.
The 33-year-old had been in talks to sign a deal extending until June 10, just before the start of the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
However, Santos has shared a video on X suggesting that Neymar’s new contract might extend even further.
The video, featuring the message “the time is almost here,” shows a Santos jersey hanging in the goal net at Vila Belmiro stadium with the date ‘June 10’ displayed alongside an error message. It concludes with the new date of ‘December 31, 2026.’
Since rejoining his childhood club Santos a year ago, Neymar has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 28 appearances.

Despite playing only half of Brazil’s Serie A matches due to injuries, his eight league goals—four of which came in the final rounds—were crucial in helping Santos avoid relegation.
A significant question for Brazil is whether Neymar will feature in the World Cup.
Neymar recently had minor surgery on his left knee. Brazil’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, emphasized that the former Barcelona star must be completely fit to participate in the World Cup.
Neymar, the all-time leading scorer for Brazil, is eager to play in this year’s tournament but hasn’t represented the national team since suffering an ACL tear in his left knee during World Cup qualifying in October 2023.
