On Tuesday, Argentina staged an incredible comeback, overcoming a 2-0 deficit against Egypt in the round of 16. They scored three goals in the final 12 minutes, transforming a looming upset into a thrilling victory.
Lionel Messi set up Cristian Romero for the first goal of the comeback, equalizing just four minutes later. In extra time, Lisandro Martínez assisted Enzo Fernández for the game-winning goal.
This marked Argentina’s second consecutive dramatic win, having previously triumphed over Cape Verde, who had equalized twice, in what also finished as a 3-2 scoreline.
