Wrexham ended the 2025-26 season in seventh place, their first year in English football’s second tier since 1982.
The north Wales club gained momentum as the campaign progressed, moving into the top six in late January and not falling below seventh thereafter.
Their toughest spell came early on, as they earned just 10 points from the first 10 matches.
Manager Phil Parkinson partly attributed the sluggish start to the disruption from last summer’s significant squad overhaul, adding that a now more settled group has room to grow.
He said several signings arrived late last year, so it took time to understand them individually and bring them together collectively.
Pre-season included a tour of Australia, with most of the new additions joining afterward.
Parkinson highlighted players who missed much of last pre-season — Lewis O’Brien, Ben Sheaf, Josh Windass, Liberato Cacace, Nathan Broadhead and Kieffer Moore — and said having them together now will be a major boost.
He remains confident there is more improvement to come from the current squad.
