With Christian Pulisic, a prominent star from the United States, taking the spotlight, AC Milan has revealed its new home kit for the 2026-27 season. The Italian side has opted to bring back its classic broad stripes, ensuring a timeless aesthetic that is likely to resonate with calcio purists.
Historically, the Rossoneri sported wider stripes during the 1940s and ’50s before transitioning to narrower ones through the 1960s and ’70s, with the two designs periodically alternating since then.

The inspiration for the 2026-27 home jersey draws heavily from the design of the 1998-99 season, a time when, under coach Alberto Zaccheroni, Milan secured the Scudetto by winning their last seven league matches and edging out Lazio by a single point.
Although the trend has leaned toward narrower red and black stripes since then, AC Milan has revisited the broader stripe design on several notable occasions, with home jerseys from 2010-11, 2012-13, and 2020-21 featuring the wider verticals.
Echoing the slim red piping of the 1998-99 kit, the trim of the new home shirt is sleek and minimalist. Additionally, a tasteful gold-effect wax seal featuring the Milan crest is placed on the back of the collar for an elegant finish.
After experimenting with a black shorts and black socks combination last season, Milan is reverting to the more traditional white shorts and black socks setup, complete with red stripes on the socks for a cohesive appearance.
Given their longstanding visual identity, AC Milan typically maintains a consistent design for home kits. However, by embracing simplicity and elegance, it seems likely that the Rossoneri have struck gold with this new look.
Milan will debut the jersey on Sunday when they face Cagliari in their season finale. Currently sitting third in the standings, a draw in that match should suffice to secure their place in the upcoming season’s UEFA Champions League.
