RB Leipzig Seeking $150M…

RB Leipzig is reportedly valuing their star winger, Yan Diomande, at €130 million ($150 million) for clubs seeking to secure his services this summer, according to sources from ESPN.

At just 19 years old, Diomande has been linked with a potential transfer to Liverpool, while Paris Saint-Germain has also shown interest. However, Leipzig is not under any pressure to sell him and is not inclined to accept offers lower than their asking price this summer.

ESPN sources indicate that only a significant bid near that valuation would prompt Leipzig to consider negotiations.

Since joining Leipzig from Leganes last summer for €20 million ($23 million), Diomande has emerged as a standout player in the Bundesliga. His contributions have been pivotal in helping the team secure a spot in next season’s Champions League, as he has scored 12 goals and provided nine assists. He also earned the title of Bundesliga Rookie of the Season, joining the ranks of players like Michael Olise, Harry Kane, Florian Wirtz, and Jude Bellingham.

Diomande is under contract until 2030, and Leipzig may discuss extending that deal this summer given the interest from other clubs. His immediate focus, however, is representing the Ivory Coast in the upcoming World Cup, where he is likely to enhance his reputation further.

In a recent media session on May 13, Diomande stated, “I have four more years left on my contract here, which runs until 2030. What the future holds, I can’t predict, as I’m currently a Leipzig player.

“This opportunity means a lot to me. It’s more than just football; the club has supported me greatly off the pitch, especially regarding my family. I aim to repay them by giving my all on the field every day.

“My transfer fee of €20 million was a significant investment, and I am thankful for their faith in me. We’re on a good trajectory, and I believe there’s more to achieve. We must continue to work hard.”

While sources suggest that Diomande is committed to Leipzig, there is an understanding that a significant offer could potentially shift his focus toward a summer transfer.

He has acknowledged the transfer speculation and uses it as motivation to improve his game.

“I don’t dwell on such matters because my main focus is performing on the pitch, and my representatives handle things off the field,” he shared. “But knowing that clubs are interested in you is quite motivating, and I stay concentrated on my game.”
