Manchester United remains optimistic that Benjamin Sesko has not sustained a serious injury after he had to leave the pitch during the 2-2 draw against Tottenham, according to sources speaking with ESPN.

Sesko has withdrawn from the Slovenia national team ahead of the international break and will remain in Manchester for further evaluation.

The 22-year-old is set to undergo additional tests on the knee injury he sustained at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

According to ESPN sources, United staff are eager to have a clearer understanding of Sesko’s injury before Premier League play resumes with Everton visiting Old Trafford on November 24.

Sesko was seen limping significantly after the match against Spurs, but Manchester United is confident that he won’t face an extended period on the sidelines.

In other news, United has allowed defender Lisandro Martínez to join the Argentina national team, despite him missing action since February.

At 27, Martínez has just returned to training with United, but he has yet to participate in a competitive match.

He will link up with Argentina during the international break, although he will not be available for any matches.

United has sent a staff member alongside Martínez to closely monitor his recovery progress.
