Cristiano Ronaldo‘s eldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Júnior, made his debut for the Portugal Under-16 team on Thursday, contributing to a 2-0 victory against the hosts, Turkey.

Portugal opened the scoring with goals from Sporting CP‘s Samuel Tavares and SC Braga‘s Rafael Cabral. Ronaldo Júnior came onto the field during stoppage time of the match held in Antalya, Turkey.

This match was the first of three scheduled for Portugal’s Under-16 squad in Turkey as part of the Federations Cup Tournament. Next, Portugal will face Wales on Saturday and will conclude the tournament on Monday against England.

Earlier this year, Ronaldo Júnior played for and scored with Portugal’s U15 team.

His father, Ronaldo Sr., who is 40, recently celebrated reaching a milestone of 950 career goals.

A five-time Ballon d’Or winner and the captain of Portugal’s national team, Ronaldo holds the record for the most goals scored by a male international player, with 143 goals across 225 matches.
