Liam Rosenior is confident that his Chelsea players can shine in crucial matches, thanks to their success in winning two major trophies last season.
Under the guidance of former manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea clinched the UEFA Conference League and the newly formatted FIFA Club World Cup in the United States last summer.
As they approach a critical Carabao Cup semifinal second leg, currently trailing 3-2 to league leaders Arsenal, Rosenior emphasized the importance of his squad’s experience in big games.
“Absolutely, my players have proven themselves, especially Enzo Fernández, who not only has a World Cup win but also contributed to our trophy haul last year,” Rosenior remarked to reporters as he prepares to lead Chelsea into a major final for the first time.
“This is definitely a significant matchup on Tuesday, and I believe my players can handle the pressure,” he added.
When asked about Arsenal and their manager Mikel Arteta, Rosenior stated his focus was on ensuring his team is well-rested and prepared for the physically demanding challenge ahead.
“It’s going to be another busy week with three games, so we need to prioritize recovery and optimal preparation for that match,” he said.
On whether reaching the League Cup final and defeating Arsenal would validate his position at Chelsea, Rosenior clarified that any success would benefit the club rather than himself.
“To be honest, I’m not concerned about proving my worth for this role. My focus is on doing the job,” he explained. “If we make it to the final, it’s a significant achievement for Chelsea Football Club, not for me personally.”

“Over time, I’ll demonstrate whether I’m deserving of this position, but that’s not my immediate concern.”
18-year-old winger Estêvão was absent from Chelsea’s comeback win against West Ham, having traveled back to his home country of Brazil for personal reasons. When discussing the upcoming match against Arsenal, Rosenior couldn’t confirm his availability.
“I’m unsure if he will be ready for the Arsenal match,” Rosenior reported. “Este is a young talent who has been exceptional, but he’s facing personal challenges right now and is on compassionate leave. I won’t add any pressure on him.”
“What’s most important is that he feels comfortable and ready to perform for the team when he returns.”
