Rosenior: Estêvão in…

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has disclosed that
Estêvão was visibly upset at half-time after leaving the pitch early with an injury during his team’s loss to
Manchester United on Sunday.

The Brazilian forward lasted just 16 minutes before being substituted due to a hamstring injury, with former United player
Alejandro Garnacho coming on in his place.

Estêvão’s compatriot
Matheus Cunha later netted the only goal of the match before half-time, helping United secure crucial points in their Champions League qualification battle at Stamford Bridge.

Following the match, Rosenior expressed concern about the extent of Estêvão’s injury.

“He was in tears at half-time; it was really heartbreaking for him,” Rosenior noted. “It appears to be a hamstring issue that occurred while he was making a run for a one-on-one chance. I hope Este can recover quickly.”

Chelsea’s injury woes continued as midfielder
Enzo Fernández, who had just returned to the squad after a break due to his comments regarding a potential move to
Real Madrid, also had to be substituted late in the game.

“I just saw him [Fernández] in the locker room — it looks like it could be his calf,” Rosenior added. “I’m hoping it’s just cramping; he’s receiving treatment right now as we need him fit for Tuesday’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion. He played his heart out for the club tonight, and I expect nothing less from a player of his caliber.”
